General information about the incident: Occupant of home was asleep upstairs in bedroom, woke to smoke alarm sounding and found a very light haze in house. As he woke, he heard loud banging noises from the garage, went downstairs, opened garage door and found garage full of smoke and yellow glow. Evacuated the house, moved his pickup truck from driveway and called 9-1-1 on his cellphone. Garage was fully involved when firefighters arrived, and they were able to keep the fire from entering the main portion of the home. The fire was put out in a few minutes. Occupant had multiple Freon gas cylinders and torches in garage (he repairs home air conditioner units) along with normal garage contents such as paints and other chemicals.
