City Of Las Vegas Celebrates Improvements To Baker Park
Newly Installed Natural Turf Enhances Park
|
| |
|
Las Vegas Councilman Bob Coffin will officially reopen Baker Park, located at St. Louis Avenue and 10th Street, on Monday, Oct. 29, at 5 p.m.
Baker Park is one of the city’s older recreation areas in Ward 3 and recently completed improvements include replacing the grass areas with new turf, adding landscape enhancements and refreshing the picnic pavilion.
Prior to the enhancements the park had a very old and mainly dirt baseball diamond and a makeshift soccer field. The new turf area will be jointly used in the park and also by the adjacent John C. Fremont Middle School.
The project cost $140,000 and crews with the city’s Operations and Maintenance Department completed the work on the improvements.
