Kitchen Fire Damages Las Vegas Home
Four People Are Displaced Because of Fire

Fire investigators have ruled a fire that damaged a home at 3917 El Conlin Ave. (Sahara/Valley View) accidental, starting on the stove in the kitchen. No one was home at the time of the fire.  There were no reported injuries during the incident.

A passerby called 9-1-1 at 10:20 Tuesday morning to report that smoke was coming out of the one-story wood frame house. When firefighters entered the home, they found the fire in the kitchen, the bulk of it on and around the stove. It took firefighters only a few minutes to put the fire out.

Fire investigators determined the fire started on the stove; apparently the occupants did not shut the stove off this morning after using it.

The fire damaged the kitchen area; the rest of the house had smoke damage. Damage is estimated at $75,000.

The American Red Cross is assisting two adults and two children who live in the house.
