Online Sewer Payments Unavailable May 22-28
Change In Software Requires Temporary Outage For City Sewer Customers

 

The city of Las Vegas is converting to a new sewer billing system that will be better for our customers. During this conversion – from Wednesday, May 22, at 5 p.m. until Tuesday, May 28, at 9 a.m. – the online sewer payment page on the city website will be unavailable.  Payments will not be accepted over the telephone during this time, and customer inquiries regarding sewer accounts will not be able to be answered, as account information will not be available or able to be updated during the conversion.

Starting this summer, city of Las Vegas sewer customers will receive quarterly bills, rather than annual bills. Previously, customers received one yearly bill, with the option to pay quarterly. Late fees were assessed on the entire outstanding annual balance. The move to quarterly billing will make it more convenient for customers who are not able to pay the full annual amount. If the quarterly amount remains unpaid by the due date, a penalty will only be assessed on the billed quarterly amount, rather than the outstanding annual balance. Customers can also continue to pay annually should they desire.

In addition, bills will look different, and customers will be issued a new account number. Beginning May 28, residents can resume paying their bills online using the city’s website at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/sewer, as well as see additional information.

Future phases will include the ability to receive bills electronically — not just pay them via the Web.
