Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Responds To 100,000th Call In One Year
First Time In History of Department

 

For the first time in the history of Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, the department responded to over 100,000 incidents in one year.

The 100,000th response was made to a medical emergency by Heavy Rescue 44 shortly before 10 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28.

Here are some stats that compare with 10 p.m. in 2012 and 2013

Numbers on the left side are for 2013, numbers on the right in ( ) are for the same time period in the year 2012

100,000 -  TOTAL NUMBER OF CALLS JAN. 1 TO 10 p.m. Seaturday, Dec. 28 (96,372)

260,723 - Total number of incidents handled by Fire Alarm Office  (251,505)

2,100 -TOTAL NUMBER OF FIRES-ALL TYPES APPROXIMATELY (2,100)

91,000 - TOTAL EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONSES APPROXIMATELY (87,720)

122 - TOTAL BOMB SQUAD (F2) RESPONSES FOR YEAR  (112)

1,100 - TOTAL OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS RESPONSES (1,100)

6,200 - TOTAL OF ALL OTHER CALLS APPROXIMATELY (4,900)

Notes: The numbers will not add up to the total number, this will be done at the end of the year for a more concise report, it takes several days to compile the exact numbers in each category.

This release is for historical purposes.  A more concise report will be compiled in January for the year’s total activities.
