House Fire Sends Two People To The Hospital
Four Adults Are Displaced

A fire gutted the bedroom of a Las Vegas home and sent two people to the hospital suffering from smoke inhalation late Tuesday afternoon.  The cause of the fire is undetermined.  There were no injuries to emergency responders during the incident.

Fire dispatchers received multiple 9-1-1 calls at 3:54 p.m. that a house at 4410 Parkchester Drive (near Vegas and Rancho drives) was on fire.  When firefighters arrived on scene, heavy flames and smoke were coming out a rear bedroom window of a large one story wood frame house.  The intensity of the fire was fierce when firefighters first arrived on scene, they were able to bring it under control in approximately 20 minutes.

All four senior adult occupants were able to escape, but two were suffering from smoke inhalation and were transported to the hospital.

Firefighters was able to contain the bulk of the fire to a rear bedroom, the room where the fire originated.  The rest of the house had moderate to heavy smoke damage, and damage was estimated at $75,000.

The cause of the fire is undetermined.  Two of the occupants were in the bedroom when it started, they yelled out to the other two that the house was on fire and everyone should escape.  The two people that were taken to the hospital were the two people in the bedroom where the fire originated.  Careless smoking could not be ruled out.

The American Red Cross is assisting the four adults that live in the house.
