The city of Las Vegas and Ward 6 Councilman Steven D. Ross invite everyone to enjoy a community spring celebration at Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs Saturday, April 5, from noon to 4 p.m. Enjoy amusement rides, children’s crafts, games, jump houses, pony rides, a petting zoo, music and a farmers market in this spacious historic park. Admission to the park and all activities will be free of charge. Food vendors will sell hot dogs, arepas, carnival concessions, funnel cakes, kettle corn, fresh fruits and vegetables, and more.
This annual celebration also focuses on connecting possible foster or adoptive parents with children who need adopting or foster care. Foster care/adoptive information and presentations will be available at the park.
“I hope families from all over Southern Nevada, and those who want to have families, will come to Tule Springs April 5 for this free Spring Celebration and Foster Connection,” said Councilman Ross. “We have so much for the children to enjoy in the park, and so many children who need loving homes. We’d like to take this opportunity to help match those children with loving homes, while everyone has a great time at the best park in Southern Nevada.”
Also at the event, Peggy’s Attic will be collecting gently used clothing in sizes from toddler to young adult; new personal hygiene items; and female formal wear, shoes and accessories (suitable for prom). A “wish list” of needed items is posted online. Peggy’s Attic is the donation center at Child Haven for the Clark County Department of Family Services, which serves all children touched by the Family Courts by providing clothing, shoes, toys, diapers, toiletry items, school supplies, and many other items free of charge. For more information on Peggy’s Attic, call 702-455-5424.
No glass containers are permitted in the park, but pets on a leash are allowed. The park is located at 9200 Tule Springs Road in Ward 6. Call 702-229-8100 for more information on the Spring Celebration.
