City Of Las Vegas To Recognize Greek Independence
Flag Raising Ceremony Scheduled For Tuesday, March 25

 

       Mayor Pro Tem Stavros S. Anthony is scheduled to be joined by Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman at a flag raising ceremony at City Hall to recognize Greek Independence day at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25. The ceremony will take place at the City Hall flag poles located on the southeast corner of the property at 495 S. Main St.

       Mayor Pro Tem Anthony has made a tradition of celebrating his heritage and Greek independence with the annual ceremony. A Greek flag will be raised at City Hall for the day to celebrate and a proclamation will be given to the leaders of the Las Vegas Greek community.

       In addition to the flag ceremony, the Greek national anthem will also be sung. Greek Independence Day is celebrated annually on March 25, commemorating the start of the War of Greek Independence in 1821.
