City Seeking Public Input On Medical Marijuana
Residents Can Attend Meeting Or Submit Comments In Crowd Hall Online Forum

The city of Las Vegas will hold a meeting to get public comment on medical marijuana at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, in City Hall Council Chambers located at 495 S. Main Street. The meeting will be carried live on KCLV Channel 2.

The city recently held two public meetings regarding medical marijuana licensing and zoning issues. The upcoming meeting is for residents to provide any additional comments they may have.

For those who aren’t able to attend the meeting in person, the city will have its first ever “Crowd Hall,” an online town hall. Beginning April 17, residents can visit lasvegasnevada.gov/medicalmarijuana to ask questions or leave comments. Resident will also have the option of voting for an existing question. The forum will be available until noon April 24, after which time the top 10 questions will be answered by city staff and posted to the page.

At the March 19 City Council meeting, the council voted 5-2 to move forward with allowing medical marijuana in the city limits. The council also extended a moratorium on accepting license applications until July 2, to allow for staff to gather public comment and draft licensing regulations.

The meeting will be carried live the day of the meeting rebroadcast the following times: Thursday, April 24, at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.; Friday, April 25, at 4 p.m., Saturday, April 26, at 2 p.m.; Sunday, April 27, at 9 p.m.; and Monday, April 28, at 6 a.m.
