City Dedicates 16th Fire Station

On Friday, May 18, city officials, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue staff and representatives from The Howard Hughes Corporation will dedicate the newest fire station in the city. Fire Station 47, which began serving residents in late April, is located at 911 Ridge Pine St. The new 1,300 square foot station features three bays and will house a rescue unit and a fire engine.
The Howard Hughes Corporation paid $4.6 million to have the station built before turning it over to the city. During the construction of Station 47, a temporary station, located at the Veterans Memorial Leisure Services Center, was set up to serve the rapidly-growing area. The costs for the temporary station were also paid for by The Howard Hughes Corporation while the permanent station was being built.
To celebrate the opening of the new station, open houses will take place at all city fire stations on Saturday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Open house events will take place at the following fire stations:
Station 1 - 500 N. Casino Center Blvd. Station 2 - 900 S. Durango Drive Station 3 - 2645 W. Washington Ave. Station 4 - 421 S. 15th St. Station 5 - 1020 Hinson St. Station 6 - 190 Upland Blvd. Station 7 - 10101 Banburry Cross Drive Station 8 - 805 N. Mojave Road Station 9 - 4747 N. Rainbow Blvd. Station 10 - 1500 S. Martin L. King Blvd. Station 41 - 6989 N. Buffalo Drive Station 42 - 7331 W. Cheyenne Ave. Station 43 - 6420 Smoke Ranch Road Station 44 - 7701 W. Washington Ave. Station 45 - 3821 N. Fort Apache Ave. Station 47 – 911 Ridge Pine St.
