Fall And Halloween Events

Get your pumpkins out and put your scary faces on because Halloween will be here before you know it. The city of Las Vegas is already preparing for the fall season with a number of Halloween events designed for all ages.

Below is just a small sampling of events. Visit the events calendar Web page for a full list of upcoming events.

Candy Corn and Pumpkin Garland Tole Painting Workshop (ages 16+)
Monday, October 2, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Register early; space is limited.
Fee: $15, supplies included. Bring own paint brushes and apron.

B-O-O Workshop (ages 4 to 10)
Wednesday, October 4, 4 to 5 p.m.
Fee: $5
Robison Community School, 4794 Harris Ave., (702) 229-2542.
Make Halloween crafts and goodies. Register by September 28.

Halloween Youth Dance (grades 6 to 8)
Friday, October 13, 5 to 7 p.m.
Fee: $5 per person Robison Community School, 4794 Harris Ave., (702) 229-2542. Teens will enjoy dancing to the latest music. Snacks and drinks will be sold. Deputy marshals will provide security at this lock-in event. School identification required.

Halloween Carnival (all ages)
Thursday, October 19, 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Fee: $.25 per booth
Robison Middle School Cafeteria, 825 Marion Drive.
Dress in costume for a safe and fun Halloween experience. Play games, win prizes, enjoy a costume contest and refreshments. Sponsored by Robison Community School. Call 229-2542 for details.

Halloween Carnival and Haunted House (all ages)
Friday, October 20, 4 to 7 p.m.; Haunted house hours 5 to 7 p.m.
Fee: $5 per wristband.
Charleston Neighborhood Preservation Park, Hyde Avenue west of Torrey Pines Drive.
Have a monstrously good time with carnival booths, candy prizes, eating contests, pumpkin patch, performers, spooky haunted house and treats for sale. Sponsored by Mirabelli Community Center and Charleston Heights and Johnson Community Schools. Call (702) 229-6359 for information.

Brinley BooFest Halloween Carnival (all ages)
Friday, October 20, 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Fee: $3 for ages 18 months to 17 years; adults and infants under 18 months free
Brinley Community School, 6150 Smoke Ranch Road, (702) 646-9046.
Bring your camera to capture some fun photos of your children enjoying the costume contest, haunted forest, cakewalk, carnival games, crafts, pumpkin weight contest and other games. No reservations are required.

Free Hocus Pocus Movie in the Park (all ages)
Friday, October 20, 6:30 p.m.
Cimarron Rose Community Center, 5591 N. Cimarron Road, (702) 229-1607
Bring lawn chairs and/or blankets and view a family movie in the adjacent park. Refreshments available for sale. Call for details. Movie will be canceled if inclement weather. Pre-movie activity at 6:30 p.m. Movie begins at 7 p.m.

Becker’s Haunted Halloween Carnival (all ages)
Friday, October 20, 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Fee: $5 for 25 tickets
Becker Community School, 9110 Hillpointe Road, (702) 229-2482.
Enjoy the costume contest, raffle, games and haunted house with family and friends.

Free Autumn Art Festival (all ages)
Saturday, October 21, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Derfelt Senior Center, 3343 W. Washington Ave., (702) 229-6601.
Bring the whole family to see local artisans displaying their art and crafts, including a special section for children. Lunch available for purchase.
