The 8th Annual Domestic Violence Conference will feature hands-on-training associated with the challenges that therapists, counselors and service professionals face when working with both victims and perpetrators of domestic violence. Participants will gain effective interventional skills and tools necessary to provide essential services to their clientele.

Conference Sessions:

The conference will feature two key note speakers. Susan Still, a women’s rights activist from Buffalo, New York, who survived 23 years of emotional and physical abuse by her husband blues guitarist Ulner Lee Still. Justice John F. O’Donnell handed Ulner Still a 36-year prison sentence for this abuse. Susan Still has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show and the ABC news program 20/20. The second day of the conference will feature key note speaker R. Edwin Hutchinson, the founder and executive director of the AMEND Center, a men’s treatment center in the state of  Idaho with a focus on domestic violence.

Continuing Education
Participants may earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and Continuing Legal Education (CLEs) in the following areas:

Attention Nevada Judges
The Nevada Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) has determined that this conference satisfies the judicial education training requirement mandated by Nevada Supreme Court Order ADKT # 168 "In the Matter of Mandatory Judicial Education on Family and Domestic Violence Issues.. As such, the AOC will pay the registration fee in full for any Nevada judge attending.
