Winding Trails Park Set To Open Next Month
Residents of the northwest part of the valley will soon have a new place to play and take their four-legged friends. Winding Trails Park is located at the corner of Elkhorn and Fort Apache Roads and features four acres of amenities including a picnic area, playground, walking path and restrooms. The park will also feature a dog park for your canine companions.
The park will officially open on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at 2 p.m., with a grand opening celebration. The event will be filled with fun activities for the entire family including face painters and balloon artists. There will be special appearances by Scooby Doo, Blue from “Blues Clues” and the City Marshal’s K-9 Unit. There will also be a dog costume contest featuring prizes for the cutest, scariest and most original costume. Light snacks and beverages will be provided while supplies last.
