City’s Enterprise Business Park Thrives With Addition Of New Resident

Later this month, Nevada’s first African-American owned cosmetology school will celebrate its grand opening. City officials and staff from the Expertise Cosmetology Institute will celebrate the new facility by declaring Tuesday, Feb. 20, as Community Services Day. In collaboration with several community agencies that serve Southern Nevada’s homeless youth, the students of the institute will provide free services to the teen participants for the day.

Located in the city’s Enterprise Business Park, the new 11,000 square-foot-cosmetology school is licensed by the Nevada State Board of Cosmetology and will provide job training to area residents. School curriculum includes: Cosmetology, Hair Designing, Esthetician, Manicuring and Teacher’s Training.

The city of Las Vegas donated the land for the project, roughly a one-acre site in the Enterprise Park. The Enterprise Park is a 75-acre, mixed-use business park master-planned by the city of Las Vegas, west of Martin Luther King Boulevard, between Vegas Drive and Lake Mead Boulevard.

The Expertise Cosmetology Institute is one of several projects either under construction or under development in and around the city’s Enterprise Park. Cox Communications recently announced the relocation of its regional headquarters for Southern Nevada to the building formerly known as the Veterans Administration building. Other companies to recently move into the city’s Enterprise park include the Las Vegas office of the FBI and the RLT Corporate Office and Training Headquarters (a McDonald’s franchisee).
