There’s still time to get your application in for the 2007 Helldorado Parade. The application deadline was recently extended to Monday, April 16, for the parade, which will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2007.

In 2005, after seven years of absence, the time-honored Helldorado Days tradition was resurrected in celebration of the city’s Centennial. Based on its success, organizers vowed to keep up the tradition.
 
What began as a tool in 1935 to bring tourists to town following the completion of construction on Hoover Dam evolved into a celebrated event that united locals with community spirit and raised money for local charities. In its heyday, Helldorado was centered on Western-themed events such as the Kangaroo Court, Old Timers Parade, rodeo, Whiskerino Contest, Beauty Parade and Children's Parade. This year, the Las Vegas Elks Lodge 1468, will sponsor a carnival, kiddie land and Western village that will take place from Thursday, May 17, to Sunday, May 20, at Cashman Center. More information will be available during the coming weeks.
