Summer Performances

The city of Las Vegas offers a number of artistic performances including theatre, films, music and dance throughout the year. This summer proves to be no different with a variety of activities for the entire family. Below are just some of the many performances and events planned for the summer. Children’s Summer Concert Series Razzle Bam Boom in “History of Rock ’n’ Roll” Razzle Bam Boom was a big hit last year. The duo returns with an entertaining look at the development of rock ‘n’ roll. Tickets for each: $3

Generation Next…Pulse, Passion and Power Performing and Visual Arts Summer Camp for Kids 2007 Final Musical Production Co-sponsored by Las Vegas-Clark County Library District . For eleven years, the West Las Vegas Arts Center’s structured arts educational, youth development summer program has provided a pivotal opportunity for youth ages 10-15 to practice and execute character-building life skills through an integrated arts program. The camp culminates in the presentation of several high caliber community productions. Call 229-4800 for information. Free admission.

Family Film Series Thursdays, 8 p.m. Baker Park, St. Louis Avenue and 10th Street Bring blankets or lawn chairs to view family movies under the stars. Picnics welcome. Free admission.
July 19 “Open Season” Boog is a happily domesticated 900-pound grizzly bear who has his comfortable world as the star of a local nature show turned upside down when he is stranded in the woods at the beginning of hunting season.
July 26 “Curious George: Show Me the Monkey” The big-screen adaptation of Margaret E. Rey’s beloved books follow the man in the yellow hat as he travels to Africa where he accidentally adopts an adorable monkey named George.

July 19 “Zathura” A mysterious game leads two brothers on an adventure in space. July 26 “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” C.S. Lewis' timeless adventure follows the exploits of the four siblings who enter the world of Narnia through a magical wardrobe. Free admission
