Grants Available For Neighborhood Improvement Projects

Applications are now being accepted for the popular Neighborhood Partners Fund program. Providing grants up to $5,000, the program offers matching funds for neighborhood improvement projects that are planned and implemented by neighborhood associations registered with the city’s Neighborhood Services Department.
Last year, the program provided funding for 23 different projects including cultural and community events, a back-to-school youth event, neighborhood beautification projects and safety improvement projects, among others. Several free how-to workshops have been scheduled to help applicants understand the application process. Residents can call 229-1027 to register for one of the following workshops.

Applications must be mailed or delivered to the Neighborhood Services Department by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 25, at 400 Stewart Ave., Second Floor, Las Vegas, NV 89101. All applicants will be required to make a 10-minute presentation to the Neighborhood Partners Fund board as part of the grant evaluation process. The board is scheduled to make its recommendations to the City Council on July 16, 2008.
