Free Christmas Tree Recycling Available Beginning Dec. 26

The city of Las Vegas has joined with numerous government agencies, nonprofits and private businesses to offer tree recycling throughout the valley this holiday season. Trees can be recycled at more than 20 locations beginning on Friday, Dec. 26, and continuing through Jan. 15, 2009.
Recycling your Christmas tree helps the entire community and future generations by keeping the trees out of local landfills. The trees are converted into mulch, which can be used for a variety of landscaping projects.
There is no cost to have your tree recycled. Just make sure to remove all non-organic items such as tinsel, lights, garland and ornaments. Flocked trees cannot be recycled.
