Applications For The Helldorado Parade Are Now Available

Hold on to your cowboy hats because Helldorado Days are back, and this time, they’re bringing a rodeo. Many other activities and events are planned to showcase the western roots of the city including the popular Helldorado Parade and the Whiskerino Contest.

Applications  are now being accepted for the Helldorado Parade, which was revived in 2005 as part of the city’s Centennial Celebration. The parade is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 16. Applications are due by April 27. Floats, marching bands, equestrian groups, walking groups and cars are encouraged to enter. Prizes will be awarded in several categories.

In addition to the parade, a number of other events and activities are planned including an art show and silent auction, poker tournament and charity golf tournament. This year marks the return of the Helldorado rodeo, which is planned for Thursday, May 14, to Sunday, May 17. The rodeo will be held between Stewart and Mesquite avenues, from Sixth to Eighth Streets.
