HUD Approves City’s Neighborhood Stabilization Plan

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development approved the city of Las Vegas Neighborhood Stabilization Plan (NSP) to use $20.6 million to stem the fallout from foreclosures in neighborhoods.  The federal funds are expected to be released sometime in April.

Meanwhile, the Neighborhood Services Department is gearing up to implement a Homebuyer Assistance Program, one of three programs outlined in the city’s stabilization plan . Those interested in learning more about the Homebuyer Assistance Program or would like to complete an interest form can call the Help Line at 229-HOME (4663). For additional information on the NSP, visit the city’s Web site at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/foreclosure.
