Hop Into Spring With Fun Activities And Events

As the weather begins to warm up, plan on enjoying the many activities and events the Department of Leisure Services has planned. From Easter egg hunts for the little ones to a free family festival, there is something for the entire family.

Easter Bunny Wreath Workshop (ages 11 to 18) Thursday, April 2, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Register by March 26. Fee: $15 Johnson Community School, 340 Villa Monterey, (702) 229-6175. Fluffy Bunnies Workshop (ages 6 to12) Thursday, April 2, 5 to 6 p.m. Must register by March 26. Fee: $15 Becker Community School, 9110 Hillpointe Road, (702) 229-2482. Bunnies, bunnies everywhere! Make bead bunnies, fluffy bunnies and a carrot treat.
Eggspectacular Easter Egg Hunt & Carnival (ages 18 months to 11 years) Saturday, April 4, 10 to 11:30 a.m. Fee: Free egg hunt; $1 for 10 tickets to carnival games. Brinley Community School, 6150 Smoke Ranch Road, (702) 229-2642. Bring a basket to hunt eggs and have fun playing carnival games.
Spring Festival (all ages) Saturday, April 4, noon to 4 p.m. Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs, 9200 Tule Springs Road, 229-8100 Enjoy a full afternoon of family fun in beautiful Floyd Lamb Park. Enjoy this western-themed celebration that features a farmers’ market, wagon and pony rides, petting zoo, children’s activities, dancing, games and contests. No pets, please. Egg Hunt in the Park (ages 50+ with grandchildren) Monday, April 6, 11 a.m. Register by March 30. Fee: $5/family Centennial Hills Active Adult Center, 6601 N. Buffalo Drive, (702) 229-1702. Bring your grandchildren to participate in this multi-generational candy-filled egg hunt!
Egg Hunt (age 50+) Wednesday, April 8, 11 a.m. Advance registration required. Fee: $2 East Las Vegas Community Senior Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave., (702) 229-1515. Bring your baskets to collect golden eggs as you hop around this one-of-a-kind egg hunt. Prizes awarded.
Incredible Edible Egg Luncheon (age 50+) Wednesday, April 8, 11:30 a.m. Advance registration required. Fee: $5 Derfelt Senior Citizens Center, 3343 W. Washington Ave., (702) 229-6601. Enjoy celebrating the egg with wholesome dishes, including chicken strata à la king, quiche pepper pots and Italian vegetable custard, with honeyed apple bread pudding for dessert.

Free Easter Egg Hunt (ages 3 to 12) Friday, April 10, 10 a.m. sharp Rafael Rivera Community Center, 2900 E. Stewart Ave., (702) 229-4600. Bring your basket and run through the field to collect some goodies.

Spring Tea Party (ages 50+) Tuesday, April 28, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fee: $5. Las Vegas Senior Center, 451 E. Bonanza Road, (702) 229-6454. Dress up with hat and gloves for a spring tea party. Enjoy tea, scones, savories and pastries as you learn the history and etiquette of tea. Space is limited. Register in advance.
