City Now Offering Passport Services

The city of Las Vegas is now offering a convenient option right in downtown Las Vegas for those who need to obtain a U.S. Passport. The Las Vegas City Clerk’s office is offering passport and photo services from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday in the first floor of City Hall, located at 400 Stewart Ave.

In addition to passport books, the City Clerk’s office is also accepting applications for U.S. Passport Cards. These wallet-sized cards can be used to enter the United States from Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean. The Passport Card is a convenient option for those who travel frequently to places such as Mexico and Canada.

Individuals who are planning to travel to Mexico, Canada, Bermuda and the Caribbean will have to have a U.S. Passport or Passport Card for travel beginning June 2009. Individuals who are planning to travel in these areas are urged to obtain a passport or passport card soon to make sure they are in compliance with the new laws this summer.

For more information including fees and required documentation, residents can visit the city’s Web site at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/passports or call the City Clerk’s Office at 229-6311.
