Traffic Engineering > Roundabouts
Traffic circles or "roundabouts" control traffic through intersections. Roundabouts can effectively slow traffic through neighborhoods where traffic volume isn’t high enough for placement of a stop sign.
In the community of Summerlin, there are several roundabouts, and the city of Las Vegas installed one in the northwest at Lake Shore South and Crystal Water Way.
When approaching a roundabout, please follow these rules:
- Slow down and yield.
- If other vehicles are in the roundabout, yield to traffic until there’s enough room for you to merge into the circle.
- Once you’re in, you can go part of the way or all the way around the loop.
