I'm happy to be able to provide you with some important opportunities for students and businesses in Ward 5. Opportunties For Students

The U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation, is looking for a student who would be interested in an opportunity to gain experience as an accounting technician for its office in Boulder City. This position is open to individuals who are currently enrolled at least part-time in an accredited college, university, or technical school and in good academic standing. Opportunities For Small Businesses In Ward 5
Small Businesses In Wards 5 Can Benefit From Sure Bet Direct
Small businesses in Wards 5 and 3 can get some help in making their business energy efficient. NV Energy's Sure Bet Direct program is an incentive program designed to promote energy efficiency upgrades in small businesses.
The Sure Bet Direct Team and their program-approved contractors will evaluate your business' energy use, provide a customized analysis for you, and even install high-quality, efficient equipment if needed. Qualifying equipment includes indoor and outdoor lighting, refrigeration measures and digital programmable thermostats.  

Businesses participating in Sure Bet Direct receive the following:  

  • FREE facility assessment to identify potential energy-saving equipment opportunities
  • Detailed proposal that includes list of recommendations, energy savings estimates, project cost, payback period and rebate amount
  • Installation of approved energy-saving equipment
  • Inspections conducted to assure quality and verify energy savings
  • Minimum hassle or time required of participating businesses
  • Energy bill cost reductions

Who is Eligible:
The program targets non-residential NV Energy customers within the city of Las Vegas' Wards 3 and 5 with electric usage below 400,000 kWh/year. For more information, please call 1-800-342-6335.

The program pays an average incentive of 75 percent total project cost. In some cases, the program pays 100 percent total project cost.  Typical payback period is less than one year.*
