It is important to stress that we cannot address our homeless problem alone. It takes everybody working together collaboratively in order to effect change and to serve our homeless needs. By working collaboratively, we have been able to manage our homeless problem. All of our resources contribute and support a delicate system of homeless services that addresses our homeless challenges.

Through the use of creative programming, inter-departmental collaboration, use of various general and federal funds, and community partnering, significant progress have been made towards meeting the goals and strategies outlined in the regional and local plan. This has been achieved through:

• the provision of federal funds to community service providers who specialize in servicing the homeless;
• the  provision of homeless services using general funds by the Neighborhood Services Initiatives Division;
• contributions and support of regional multi-jurisdictional partnerships; and
• partnerships with community and faith-based organizations and citizens.
