NONPROFIT SERIES & SURVEY
Earlier this year, I hosted the Ward 5 Nonprofit Workshop. We had phenomenal interest in this event, with more than 200 attendees. The results were so great that I would like to sponsor a second installment of the series. This event would provide more in-depth coverage of the issues our nonprofit community is currently facing. Please take the time to complete the survey so that I may gain a better understanding of what those issues are, in order to tailor our presentation to better meet your needs. Please respond to the survey by Nov. 1, 2012. Click here for the survey.

CYBER SECURITY AWARENESS MONTH
October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month. Click here for some great tips on how to protect your computers.

F STREET UPDATE
NV Energy has hired contractor Mammoth UG to work on relocating existing NV Energy facilities to prepare for the reopening of F Street. Mammoth has blocked the south end of F Street at McWilliams for equipment. Once the contractor completes the work, NV Energy will set up on site to relocate poles and install underground wire. The working hours for both NV Energy and Mammoth are 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. This work should be complete by the end of October, barring any unforeseen events. Any outages to the community will be coordinated with the affected customers by NV Energy and will be scheduled to provide the least amount of impact on residents. As the project moves along, visit the F Street Connection Web page or Facebook page for more information.

JOIN ME TO HONOR OUR VETERANS
I invite all military veterans and the public to join me at the Dula Gymnasium at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, for light refreshments and an outdoor flag ceremony and drill team exhibition by the Rancho High School ROTC to honor our local veterans. A luncheon at the adjacent Las Vegas Senior Center will follow at 11:30 a.m. See the flier for details.
