OCT 31 TEEN TOWN HALL TO BE BROADCAST LIVE
I will host my annual Ward 5 Teen Town Hall Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 10 to 11 a.m. in City Council Chambers at City Hall, 495 S. Main St. More than 400 students are expected to attend from Las Vegas Academy, West Preparatory Academy, Desert Pines, Las Vegas, Cheyenne, Rancho and Western high schools to discuss a variety of topics that impact teens. The town hall will be broadcast live on KCLV-TV Channel 2. It will be rebroadcast at 8 p.m. Nov. 1, at 4 p.m. Nov. 2, at noon Nov. 3, at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 4, and at 7 a.m. Nov. 5.
OCT. 31 HALLOWEEN SAFE NIGHT
Enjoy Halloween Safe Night Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dr. William U. Pearson Community Center, located at 1625 W. HALLOWEEN PARADE OCT. 31
Enjoy the downtown Halloween Parade on Fourth Street from Garces Avenue to Ogden Avenue Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 7 to 10 p.m. The free after party takes place directly following the parade on 3rd Street between Ogden and Stewart avenues. CELEBRATE OUR VETERANS NOV. 8
I invite all military veterans, their families and the public to the city of Las Vegas Dula Gymnasium at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, for light refreshments and an outdoor flag ceremony and drill team exhibition by the Rancho High School ROTC. The flag ceremony will take place at the flagpole in front of the Dula Gymnasium, located at 441 E. Bonanza Road. I hope our military veterans and their families will attend and allow us to honor them for their service and sacrifice. Following the flag ceremony, the annual luncheon honoring veteran members of the Las Vegas Senior Center will be held at the adjacent center. Advance registration is required for the luncheon.
