RTC TO HOST HOLIDAY BIKE RIDE DEC. 1
Pedal your way into the holiday season by joining the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) and local cyclists for a family friendly 10-mile Holiday Bike Ride on Saturday, Dec. 1, starting at 8 a.m. at the RTC’s Westcliff Transit Center. Bring a new unwrapped toy to donate and join local cyclists in festive holiday attire or a decked out bicycle to deliver holiday cheer. Advance registration is required. See all the details here.

MOCK INTERVIEW & RESUME ASSISTANCE
In anticipation of the Dollar General Job Fair Dec. 7, the Foundation for an Independent Tomorrow (FIT) will offer free mock job interviews with constructive feedback on Tuesday, Dec.4, 9 a.m. to noon, at 1931 Stella Lake Drive. Resume assistance may be available, as well. Interested residents should call (702) 367-4348 to reserve an interview time or request assistance. The Dollar General job fair Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 1931 Stella Lake Drive, will hire employees for four Dollar General stores in the valley, including the new store under construction in Enterprise Park near Martin L. NONPROFIT GRANT FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
Qualified nonprofit organizations can submit applications for grant funding allocated by the city’s Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Department beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 3. Applications for Community Development Block Grants for public services, Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) grants and Emergency Solutions Grants are available online. Organizations planning to apply are encouraged to attend one of three application workshops to be held Dec. 3.

Applicants must be certified 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) non-profit organizations, and properly licensed by the city of Las Vegas to perform services identified in the application, at time of submission. APPLY ONLINE BEGINNING DEC. 3
Beginning Dec. 3, people looking for a job at the city of Las Vegas will be able to apply and submit their applications online by visiting the city’s website. This new feature will make it easier for job seekers to search for open positions, including receiving e-mail notifications of new openings.  Hourly/seasonal opportunities will be included on the site beginning in January.  To accommodate those who may not have computer access, the city is expected to open an online application center in the Human Resources lobby at City Hall in January. REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND CITY COUNCIL MEETING DEC. 5
The Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency will meet at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, in Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, located at 495 S. Main St. There is one item of interest for Ward 5 residents to be considered.

FORECLOSURE PREVENTION ASSISTANCE DEC. 7-8
The city of Las Vegas has partnered with Fannie Mae and Seterus to offer free mortgage assistance to local homeowners with a Seterus mortgage on Friday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 8, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Financial Guidance Center, located at 2650 S.
