Neighborhood Partners Fund Classes
The Neighborhood Partners Fund (NPF) is designed to assist in improving the livability of city neighborhoods through community matched funding for neighborhood improvement projects. The NPF program grants up to $5,000, which must be matched by the neighborhood with cash, volunteer labor, donated supplies, equipment or professional services.
When residents volunteer for improvement projects, they meet their neighbors and work side by side. Communication improves, relationships are formed and community spirit is developed. Such is the impact of this type of small grants neighborhood funding.
Complete details can be found here. The application submission deadline is Thursday, April 18, 2013.

Volunteer Coaches Needed
Volunteer coaches are vital to the success of our youth sports program as we currently have 900 participants in our basketball and flag football leagues annually.
Volunteers are typically the parents, and sometimes grandparents, of our participants.
Volunteer coaches will conduct at least one practice each week, in addition to a weekly game.
The ages of participants in our basketball and flag football leagues are as young as 6 and as old as 14 years, and all leagues are coed.
All volunteers are required to successfully complete a background check and a drug screening. There is no cost to the volunteer for either process. However, there is an occasional volunteer applicant who is disqualified from participation.
Our Human Resources department handles this process, with line staff submitting an application on behalf of the volunteer.
Interested residents should contact Community Program Specialist Randy Gamboa, Veterans Memorial Leisure Services Center, at 229-1100 or email to email@example.com, for information on volunteering for our sports leagues.
