RV NEW 48-HOUR ORDINANCE AND PERMITS
Recently the Las Vegas City Council passed a new ordinance that allows recreational vehicle owners to park their RV in a residential area for up to 48 hours in order to prepare for a trip. In order to utilize the 48-hour grace period, citizens must apply for a permit; however, the online permitting process is not yet functional. Until the permitting is available, parking services is honoring the 48-hour time limit without a permit. Parking Services can be reached at 229-6432, for any questions.
STORYCORPS TO RECORD INTERVIEWS WITH RESIDENTS
StoryCorps, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to recording, sharing, and preserving the stories of Americans from all backgrounds and beliefs, will record interviews in Las Vegas April 4-27 as part of its cross-country MobileBooth tour. StoryCorps’ MobileBooth, an Airstream trailer outfitted with a recording studio, will be parked at Centennial Plaza, 401 S. Fourth St., for four weeks. StoryCorps has partnered with KUNV 91.5 The Source radio station and the city of Las Vegas to collect interviews with residents in the Las Vegas area. KUNV 91.5 The Source will air a selection of local interviews recorded in the StoryCorps MobileBooth, and create special programs around the project. Segments of select interviews also may air nationally on National Public Radio’s “Morning Edition.” With participant permission, all StoryCorps interviews will be archived at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.
KUNV 91.5 The Source will host an opening day press event April 4 at 10:30 a.m. to introduce StoryCorps to the community, and allow press to interview StoryCorps staff and the first set of participants.
ARIZONA DOT SEEKS PUBLIC COMMENT
The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is seeking public comment on the Draft Environmental Assessment regarding the proposed Virgin River Bridge No. 6 rehabilitation project on I-15 at milepost 15.58.
