ARTZ-TO-GO FREE ART FUN IN THE PARK
Equipped arts buses and art teachers will bring free art instruction for children to Lorenzi Park (3333 W. Washington Ave.) several Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The art bus will be in Lorenzi Park Feb. 1, 8, 15; March 1, 8, 15; April 5, 12; and May 3 and 24. See the flier  for more information.

RECOMMENDING MEETING FEB. 4
The Las Vegas City Council Recommending Committee will meet to consider new bills before the City Council Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 9 a.m. in the Las Vegas City Hall City Clerk’s Conference Room, located on the second floor at 495 S. BUSINESS LICENSING ONLINE PORTAL CLASSES
The city of Las Vegas will be offering free classes on the new business licensing online portal that is expected to launch soon. Classes are available to current city of Las Vegas business license holders and will cover how to access accounts, how to make payments, and how to apply for business licenses using the new system. The first class is Feb. 4. Advance reservations are required. See the news release for details.

REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY & CITY COUNCIL MEETING FEB. 5
The Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency will meet at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, in Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, located at 495 S. You are invited to attend the dedication of the latest addition to the city of Las Vegas public art collection Thursday, Feb. 6, starting at noon, in the first-floor lobby of the Development Services Center, located at 333 N. Rancho Drive. Light refreshments will be served. The large artwork, comprised of five colorful fiber sculptures by Las Vegas artist Cyd Bown, is entitled “Nephele.” See the invitation. FREE INCOME TAX FORM PREPARATION
Volunteers from AARP and the Internal Revenue Service Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program will offer residents free assistance with personal income tax form preparation and electronic filing at five city of Las Vegas community and senior centers starting this month. Income restrictions will apply to qualify for assistance. Advance appointments are required at all locations. See the news release for all the details.
