MARCH 29 DOWNTOWN EVENT ROAD CLOSURES
Road closures to accommodate the 2014 Bubble Run 5K will begin Saturday, March 29, at 6 a.m. and end at 11 a.m. The north-south road closures will include Las Vegas Boulevard, and Sixth, Seventh, Eighth and Ninth streets, all between Carson Avenue and Hoover Avenue. Please follow the posted detour signs. See the site plan for specific additional east-west street closures.
SUMMER LIFEGUARD JOBS
The city of Las Vegas is holding lifeguard tryouts at Municipal Pool, 431 E. Bonanza Road (at Las Vegas Boulevard). Summer lifeguard jobs pay $9-$13 per hour, up to 40 hours per week. The city of Las Vegas offers American Red Cross certification classes needed to become a lifeguard. One class certifies you in lifeguard training, first-aid and CPR/AED. KEEP LAS VEGAS BEAUTIFUL HOSTS EARTH DAY ART CONTEST FOR STUDENTS
Keep Las Vegas Beautiful, in partnership with the Clark County School District School-Community Partnership Program and Republic Services, is hosting the fourth annual “Earth Day Every Day” Art Contest for students in elementary, middle and high schools. Cash prizes, sponsored by Republic Services, will be awarded to the top three winning students of each age group and their teachers. Artwork submitted by both winners and runners up will also be part of a Youth Earth Day art display at a Town Square event April 26 and later displayed at City Hall.
