Registration Begins For Summer Cultural Classes

Have you ever wanted to learn calligraphy or tae kwon do?  The city’s Leisure Services Department is offering numerous cultural classes this summer and registration begins soon.

Registration for the six-week summer session begins Saturday, May 20, and continues through Thursday, June 8. Classes, which are available at four facilities throughout the city, begin Tuesday, June 13. Fees range from just $25 to $100.

Classes are offered in a number of different disciplines ranging from computers and dance to theatre production. Topics include dance, including private lessons, voice, drawing, painting, ceramics, Spanish conversation, pottery and more. In addition, youth, ages 10 through 17, who are interested in dance, theatre and music performance can enroll in the Performance Dance Theatre Ensemble Company. Those interested in enrolling in the theatre ensemble, can call the West Las Vegas Arts Center at 229-4800.

Activities are also available at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, the East Las Vegas Community Senior Center and the Reed Whipple Cultural Center
