CELEBRATE Trees
- October 2008
CELEBRATE organized six tree planting events at City Hall and community parks to share the environmental and sustainable benefits of trees and planting the right tree in the right place. Forty three trees were planted:

- 3 Honey Mesquite
- 8 Shoestring Acacia
- 3 Chaste Tree
- City Hall
- Ethel Pearson Park
- All American Park
- Rafael Rivera Park
- Mountain Ridge Park
- Fire Fighters Memorial Park

City Team of the Quarter – Third Quarter 2008
The city-wide CELEBRATE committee was recognized by the City Council and City Manager for their contributions to one of the city’s three initiatives, sustainability.
Earth Day - April 23, 2008
City employees from CELEBRATE passed out Earth Day-themed word searches to more than 1,000 area elementary school children.

Annual City Employee Health & Safety Fair - Spring 2008
“CELEBRATE” was the theme of the fair with exhibitors offering information and services to thousands of city workers – including calculating your carbon footprint and other sustainable tips to increase the health and safety of city employees.
