Agenda Item 6 – Recognition of the Mayor’s Urban Design Award Winners: The MUDAs were created in 2006 to encourage and promote quality urban design principles and to recognize those companies and individuals that have contributed to these goals in four categories: Building(s) and Environment, Public Places, Public Art and Historic Preservation & Adaptive Reuse. Agenda Items 41 & 44– Sale and Development of Symphony Park Parcel B-North: Jackson-Shaw Company submitted a proposal to construct a convention hotel with 400 rooms and 20,000 square-feet of meeting space plus a restaurant, fitness center and other amenities. City Council approved and authorized the agreement and any related documents required to finalize the transaction. Click here to learn more about the project.
Agenda Item 46 – Addition Licensing Requirements for Short-Term Residential Units in Multifamily Residential and Mixed-Use Developments : A proposed bill went to council to establish additional licensing requirements and limitations for short-term residential rental unites within multifamily residential developments and mixed-use developments. City Council did not approve these additional requirements; the same rules that apply to single-family homes will apply to these developments as well.
