In this episode, we talk about the growing presence and future of professional sports teams in Las Vegas. Communications Director David Riggleman sits down with Las Vegas Lights FC Owner Brett Lashbrook and owner of the Las Vegas Aviators, Tom Warden, to discuss what locals should look forward to with the arrival of the Raiders and what’s in store for the future of professional sports in Las Vegas.
Here are three things we heard on the podcast:
Giving back to the community
The Golden Knights and the Las Vegas Lights FC both do their part to engage in programs for kids interested in playing hockey and soccer. The Raiders plan to do the same when they arrive in town in 2020.
Is it too much?
There have been many doubts about the growing involvement of sports into the Las Vegas entertainment world and people are asking, is it too much?Las Vegas has already invested so many efforts towards being the entertainment capital of the world and these sports teams are seen as an opportunity to give back to the locals.
Future of Soccer in Las Vegas
It is time for Las Vegas to finally get an MLS team? People will be glad to hear that it is more about when than if Las Vegas is bringing another major league sports team to the city. One of the largest factors is seeing how overwhelmingly supportive the locals have been to the Las Vegas Lights FC. MLS is looking to expand its league and it can only be a matter of time until we see a new team in town.
