International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) 2013 Female Vocalist of the Year Clair Lynch and her band will perform Saturday, March 8, in downtown Las Vegas at the Historic Fifth Street School auditorium, 401 S. Fourth St. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. concert are priced at $10 in advance and $15 on event day.
A two-time Grammy Award nominee and IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year in 1997 and 2010 as well, Lynch has long been at the forefront of bluegrass singing and songwriting. Her acoustic ensemble delivers a high-energy performance with hard-driving bluegrass, swing and Southern Appalachian clog dancing, as well as tender country ballads. Before she formed her own band in 2005, Lynch led the Front Porch String Band and sang background vocals for a host of country and bluegrass stars.
Joining Lynch will be two-time IBMA Award-winning bassist/claw-hammer banjo player/dancer/percussionist Mark Schatz, soulful mandolinist/guitarist Matt Wingate, and young string wizard Bryan McDowell. For more information on Lynch and her band, visit www.clairelynch.com.
Tickets may be purchased online at artslasvegas.org or by calling (702) 229-3515. The event is sponsored by the city of Las Vegas.
