Aug. 4 Community Meeting Postponed On Proposed Downtown Soccer Stadium Financing
Aug. 7 Town Hall At City Hall Will Be Held At 5:30 p.m.


The first of two public meetings scheduled for the Cordish Companies and Findlay Sports to share financing plans for the proposed soccer stadium for Symphony Park has been postponed. The meeting that was scheduled for Monday, Aug. 4, at the Doolittle Community Center has been canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date.

The second meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, in City Council chambers, located on the second floor of City Hall, 495 S. Main St. The Aug. 7 town hall meeting will be televised live on KCLV-TV Channel 2 and streamed live on the website.

Residents also may provide their comments in an online Crowd Hall that has been created at The online town hall will be open for comments until Aug. 11. The City Council tentatively is scheduled to consider the matter at the Aug. 20 Council meeting.

The city of Las Vegas is in an exclusive negotiating agreement with the Cordish Companies to build a state-of-the-art stadium on the north end of Symphony Park in the heart of downtown. The Cordish Companies have partnered with Findlay Sports, a local company owned by the Findlay Family. Plans call for the group to purchase a Major League Soccer team to play at the new stadium.
