The public meeting to discuss a proposed Major League Soccer (MLS) stadium in downtown Las Vegas has been postponed. The meeting was scheduled to take place in Las Vegas City Hall council chambers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 7.
The city and developers Findlay Sports & Entertainment and The Cordish Companies are still in negotiations, and are yet to agree on terms. The city and the Cordish Companies had been exploring the potential of developing an arena and entertainment district on Symphony Park for about three years. Then in 2014, with Findlay Sports & Entertainment as a new partner, the focus shifted to developing an MLS stadium on the same location.
As part of this effort, the city, Findlay and Cordish want to hold public meetings so the community can fully understand the proposed terms of the deal. However, since terms are still yet to be finalized, those public meetings have been placed on hold.
