Purchasing & Contracts

Overview

About

The city’s Purchasing and Contracts Division is a team of dedicated professionals that support more than 20 city departments in the procurement of a variety of goods and services needed to run the city. We ensure that procurement processes are equitable and that the community receives the best value for tax dollars expended. To give you an idea if your business meets the city’s needs, we encourage you to review a sample list of commonly purchased items.

If you are a small business or new to the government marketplace, there are entry level opportunities to connect with city departments and provide quotes for small purchases of $100,000 and under. Our Purchasing and Contracts team can refer you to the right department decision makers by contacting us at purchaseconnect@lasvegasnevada.gov.

This program provides technical assistance to local emerging small businesses and minority-owned, women-owned and disabled veteran-owned business enterprises to give those organizations greater access to contracting and procurement opportunities with the city. This is accomplished by:

  • Meeting one-on-one with local emerging small businesses to help identify bidding opportunities.
  • Facilitating meetings with local businesses and other city staff.
  • Advising these businesses of the availability of other community resources.

An emerging small business is defined as an organization that is certified by the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and is currently active. To certify a business or check active status of a business visit diversifynevada.com.
