2020-2021 School Year
With all Clark County School District elementary schools beginning full week in-person instruction on April 6, online registration for Safekey, a before- and after-school youth enrichment program that is part of our Las Vegas’ Strong Schools initiative, is now open for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
Families who would like to register now for Safekey services as of April 6 and for the remainder of the 2020 – 2021 school year, may register at any time and must select Safekey Cohort A or B. All cohort registrations will automatically be rolled over on March 30th into the full-week program. If a family has already paid a Safekey registration fee for this school year, there is no need to re-register.
The opening of each Safekey site will be contingent upon sufficient enrollment. Attendance calendars for booking dates through online Safekey accounts will only open after a site has met the minimum enrollment requirement; at the earliest, attendance calendars will open on March 30, for booking April 6 and dates for the remainder of the 2020 -2021 school year. A list of operating sites and those scheduled to open can be found here and will be updated every Friday.

Program Description
Safekey is a before- and after-school youth enrichment program that is part of the city’s Strong Schools initiative. Safekey offers opportunities for learning beyond the school bell and is designed for children ages 5-11 attending kindergarten through fifth grades. It is offered at 70 elementary schools within the city. Morning passes cost $7, while afternoon passes cost $10.
The program follows the Clark County School District calendar and operates only on days that school is in session. Daily and weekly scheduled activities include physical fitness, nutritional education, arts and crafts, games, STEAM activities, special events, homework time, literacy programming and nutritious afternoon snacks. The Department of Youth Development & Social Innovation manages the program. Program hours vary by site and afternoon Safekey now closes at 6:00 p.m. at all locations.
