Call for Artists: Art in Public Places Exhibition
Issue Date: January 9, 2026 12:00 PM
Closing Date: July 16, 2026 6:00 PM
VISION AND MISSION
The city of Las Vegas illuminates arts and culture and celebrates its bold, dynamic, and diverse community by providing access to artworks within city spaces and the public realm. The Public Art and Gallery Program serves valley residents and visitors by acquiring and displaying artworks in public spaces and supporting community-led public art efforts.
DESCRIPTION
The city of Las Vegas Public Art and Gallery Program invites artists and galleries to share their artwork in the Art in Public Places Exhibition. This exhibition celebrates artistic excellence and provides a unique opportunity for artists to contribute to the City’s permanent public art collection, bringing meaningful artwork to public spaces and places throughout the city of Las Vegas.
The exhibition serves as a platform for both emerging and established artists to present work that reflects unique perspectives and enriches the cultural life of the community. Guest curator Demecina Gray will select works for inclusion in the Civic Center Gallery exhibition, and a review panel will consider the exhibited pieces for acquisition and placement in City-owned facilities, including community centers and public offices.
BUDGET & ACQUISITION
Inclusion in the exhibition does not guarantee purchase. After installation, a selection panel will review all displayed artworks to determine which pieces will be acquired for the City’s permanent public art collection. Artists must provide an all-inclusive price for each submitted work. Selected artists will enter into a purchase agreement with the city. A sample contract is available on request.
