VISION AND MISSION
The city of Las Vegas illuminates arts and culture and celebrates its bold, dynamic, and diverse community by providing access to artworks within city spaces and the public realm. The Public Art and Gallery Program serves valley residents and visitors by acquiring and displaying artworks in public spaces and supporting community-led public art efforts.
DESCRIPTION
The Public Art and Gallery Program invites qualified community members, arts professionals, and subject‑matter experts to serve as Project Evaluators for upcoming public art initiatives. Evaluators participate in project meetings, review proposals, engage in discussion, and contribute to consensus‑based artist selection processes.
Evaluators are essential in helping ensure that public art projects represent diverse perspectives, reflect community priorities, and meet high artistic and technical standards.
ELIGIBILITY
To be considered to serve as a Public Art Project Evaluator, applicants must demonstrate experience, knowledge, or interest relevant to public art, community engagement, or arts and cultural programming and commit to the participation requirements outlined below.
EVALUATOR RESPONSIBILITIES
To successfully serve on a project evaluation panel, evaluators must:
- Attend all required project meetings. Most evaluation processes include two to three meetings, although additional meetings may be scheduled depending on project needs.
- Review project materials thoroughly, including artist proposals, required documents, or supplemental materials.
- Respond to project‑related email communications in a timely and thoughtful manner.
- Participate professionally, respectfully and actively during discussions and consensus‑building.
Not meeting these expectations my result in removal from the panel and impact stipend eligibility.
STIPEND INFORMATION
Project Evaluators who successfully complete all participation requirements are eligible to receive a $250 stipend. To receive payment, evaluators must:
- Register as a supplier in the City of Las Vegas iSupplier Portal.
- Provide all required documentation for payment processing.
- Fulfill all participation and meeting requirements.
The stipend will be issued after the evaluation process has concluded and the selected artist has entered the contracting phase. The stipend is a one‑time payment intended to acknowledge the evaluator’s service. It does not constitute employment and does not guarantee future assignments.

PARTICIPATION INFORMATION
Project Evaluators play a vital role in ensuring that public art projects represent diverse perspectives, reflect community priorities and meet high artistic standards. This call is intended to generate a list of prospective evaluators that will remain active for up to three years.
Please note that being added to the evaluator list does not guarantee participation. We will reach out to you directly if you are selected for a specific project evaluation panel. On average, the program facilitates approximately five to ten project evaluation panels per year.
