The city of Las Vegas invites you to celebrate the installation of “Waiting On A Light On The Corner By Sound Exchange” on the southeast corner of North Third Street and Ogden Avenue at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2. Councilwoman Shondra Summers-Armstrong will join artist David Ryan to share this new piece of public art. Street parking is available nearby.
The work reflects Ryan’s thoughtful approach to site and everyday experience. By transforming a familiar downtown intersection into a place to pause and observe, the installation invites viewers to notice their surroundings and engage with the city in new ways.
Ryan lives and works in downtown Las Vegas and moved from Austin, Texas, to earn his Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. The city of Las Vegas is proud to collaborate with an artist who continues to shape the cultural landscape of the community he calls home.
Fabrication support for the project was provided by YESCO, a company that specializes in the manufacture of custom electric signs and sign maintenance.
