Mobile Food Vending
To operate a food truck or trailer within jurisdictional boundaries of the city of Las Vegas, or participate in special events within the city, here is what you need to do:
- Obtain a health permit from the Southern Nevada Health District. Please visit their website or call 702.759.1127 to get started.
- Your health permit will require you to sign an agreement with a commissary facility. Once you have that, we will need a copy of the agreement when you apply for your business license. The location of this commissary will be used as the address for your business license.
- You will need a certificate of liability insurance, which includes the city of Las Vegas as an additional insured party.
- We will need a copy of the Nevada DMV registration for your food truck or food trailer.
- We will also need a copy of your Nevada driver’s license.
- We will want to see photos of the food truck or food trailer as well.
- As part of the license application process, our Fire Prevention Division will need to inspect your food truck or trailer. If you will be using liquid propane, that will need to be inspected as well. Click here for more details. Please note that your food truck or trailer will need to be reinspected annually.
- A member of our Environmental Compliance & Enforcement team will also reach out to help ensure you know how to properly handle and dispose of your waste material while operating.
- The initial fee for this type of business license is $100, plus a one-time $50 application processing fee. After that, the license renewal fee is based on how much revenue you make every six months, and is then calculated according to this fee schedule.
