Proposed Amendments

To stay current with business trends and practices, state law and federal law, the city of Las Vegas occasionally processes amendments to Title 6 of the Las Vegas Municipal Code which governs business taxes, licenses, and regulations. In accordance with NRS Chapter 237, trade associations, owners and officers of businesses which are likely to be affected by a proposal, as well as other interested persons, may submit comments, data, or arguments to the city concerning whether any of the provisions of the proposal will:

  • Impose a direct and significant economic burden upon a business; or
  • Directly restrict the formation, operation, or expansion of a business.

Any current proposed amendments are listed below. These may be viewed electronically at the links provided or reviewed in-person at the Business License Division office on the sixth floor of City Hall at 495 S. Main St.

Join city of Las Vegas staff for a town hall meeting to discuss ideas to improve the Fremont Street Experience (pedestrian mall) lottery registration and performance circles.

 

 Alcohol To-Go

VIEW the proposed changes to amend Las Vegas Municipal Code Chapter 6.50 to allow restaurants that are licensed to sell alcoholic beverages for on-premise consumption to apply for an endorsement to sell alcoholic beverages as a to-go item, in connection with a meal, provided such alcoholic beverages are in sealed, tamper-evident containers.
 
COMMENT on the proposed changes to amend LVMC Chapter 6.50 to allow restaurants that are licensed to sell alcoholic beverages for on-premise consumption to apply for an endorsement to sell alcoholic beverages as a to-go item, in connection with a meal, provided such alcoholic beverages are in sealed, tamper-evident containers.

Note: In order for comments, data or arguments to be guaranteed consideration by the city, they must be received no later than 5 p.m., June 25, 2026.
