We are proud to operate and manage some of the most beautiful sports facilities in Nevada. The city coordinates the allocation process and reservations of all athletic fields in the city of Las Vegas, for both city-owned sports fields and fields on Clark County School District campuses.

Sports fields are available for reservation as early as 7 a.m. and may be reserved as late as 11 p.m. Due to the possibility of frost and potential damage to the fields, permits are not granted before 10 a.m. on natural grass fields between Nov. 1 and Feb. 28.

As you enjoy our many and diverse parks, please respect the rights of others, and comply with all park regulations.

Field use permits are required for all designated sports fields in city of Las Vegas parks. Most fields are reserved for city programs, local youth and adult sports programs and requests for sporting events. Fields are available for reservation on a limited basis. While most sports fields are reserved on weekends and nightly for youth and adult league play, a limited number of sports fields are available during the week and on some weekend dates. These fields can be reserved for a fee. View our handbooks for more information, or call 702.229.PLAY.

Sport Permit Periods

Sporting event reservation request forms (for tournaments, camps, clinics, etc.) will be accepted a maximum of two years prior to the date requested, beginning the first business day of the respective scheduled month. Sporting event request forms will be accepted a minimum of 10 months prior to the date requested, otherwise the request may be denied. View our Reservation Application Sporting Event 11.9.17.

Short-Term Permit Request

Short-term field use permits are limited to recreational events which do not require participants to pay a fee or make a donation to participate, and span in duration for no more than two or four hours. Permits are issued on the hour in 60-minute increments. Short-term permits are not available on nationally observed holidays. Field use requests not falling into these qualifications would be classified as a sporting event. Short-term requests will be accepted a minimum of five business days prior to the use date requested, otherwise the request may be denied. View our Reservation Application Short-Term Use Permit 3.31.15.

Allocation Permit Periods

Sports fields are awarded to community leagues on a semi-annual basis in two time periods, March through July (spring allocation) and August through February (fall allocation). Allocation permits are issued after a request has been submitted, approval has been granted, all required documents are received, fees paid and insurance requirements are met. If interested please see our application. Allocation request forms must be submitted according to the submission dates listed below:

  • Spring Allocation Period - Start accepting fourth Wednesday in November. Due second Monday in December, close of business
  • Fall Allocation Period - Start accepting fourth Wednesday in April. Due second Monday in May, close of business

Open Permit Periods

Once field allocations are completed for local youth and adult sport organizations, fields will be permitted to the public as available. Requests can be made through the Municipal Sports Unit. These requests will be processed in the order they are received and according to the prioritization listing (page 6 in policy handbook). The city reserves the right to determine which days, times and fields will be permitted based on other scheduled use, wear and maintenance issues.

Pricing & Insurance

Permit fees are due prior to permits being issued and field usage. View our Fee Schedule. Field use after sunset may not occur on an unlit field. When completing your application, please list your start and end time, not dusk or dark. Field use occurring in the evening will be assessed a lighting fee.

Insurance is required when reserving city sports fields or space for league play and sporting events (tournaments, camps, clinics, etc.) including short-term use permits for five or more days in one allocation season. Such insurance must be commercial general liability coverage which provides protection for event spectators, athletic participants, staff members and volunteers against claims of bodily injury and property damage and names the city of Las Vegas as an additional insured by an endorsement to the policy. The endorsement page is often referred to as page CG 2011. Do not purchase the insurance policy until a field request has been confirmed and accepted. Additional information can be found in our Insurance Guidelines.
