Requirements
- Volunteers under age 18 must have a parent/guardian consent to volunteer. All volunteers under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during service.
- Volunteer groups must include five or more people to participate in group specific opportunities, such as Adopt-A-Spot.
- Volunteers must be willing to observe the Department of Neighborhood Services’ policies and procedures.
Opportunities
We have opportunities for long-term and short-term commitments for individual volunteers as well as volunteer groups. Available volunteer opportunities most consistently include:
- Beautification Projects - Programs like Keep Las Vegas Beautiful focus on neighborhood cleanups, recycling events, painting projects for faded fire hydrants and curbs and more. Learn More about Beautification Projects.
- Special Events - The city of Las Vegas often holds special events related to public safety, health and wellness and more. These events sometimes require volunteers.
- Large-Scale Events - The Department of Neighborhood Services will participate in large-scale events occasionally. These may include large conventions or long-term beautification projects that volunteers can participate in for an extended period.
- Adopt-A-Spot - This program allows volunteer groups to sponsor an area of their choice. Groups will be provided supplies and support from the Department of Neighborhood Services to keep their area clean and litter-free. After six months of successful participation, the sponsoring group/organization will be formally recognized with an Adopt-A-Spot sign. To register for or learn more about Adopt-A-Spot, please email Vanessa Acosta at vacosta@lasvegasnevada.gov.
