Lake Mead Boulevard - Losee to Simmons

The city of Las Vegas and the city of North Las Vegas are partnering to bring street improvements to Lake Mead Boulevard between Simmons Street and Losee Road.

Surface improvements will include:

  • New pavement with refreshed signage and striping including the addition of bike lanes
  • New medians with landscaping and irrigation at select locations
  • Pedestrian crossings and ramps
  • New traffic signal infrastructure and upgrades to LED streetlights

Subsurface improvements will include:

  • Water line installation
  • Sanitary sewer rehabilitation
  • Intelligent transportations systems (ITS) infrastructure

  • Project Cost: $47 Million, funded by the Regional Transportation Commission and the city of Las Vegas
  • Contractor : Holcim-SWR, Inc.

Traffic control restrictions will be in place through the duration of the project. A minimum of one lane in each direction will remain open on Lake Mead Boulevard and business access/ resident access will be maintained at all times. Businesses or residents whose access may be temporarily affected by construction will be notified by the Contractor. Construction will require temporary closures of some bus stops. Charleston Storm Drain - Essex to Lindell

The city of Las Vegas is constructing sanitary and storm drainage facilities along Charleston Boulevard, Arville Street and Sahara Avenue. In an effort to reduce impacts to the public, the city has elected to construct these two projects together.

 

Project Facts

Sanitary Sewer improvements include:

·         Replacement sewer along Arville Street from Charleston Boulevard to Oakey Boulevard

Maryland Parkway Bus Rapid Transit

Maryland Parkway Bus Rapid Transit

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, in conjunction with the city of Las Vegas and Clark County, is constructing the Maryland Parkway Bus Rapid Transit project.

Maryland Parkway is a vital corridor for the Las Vegas Valley. It is home to 63,000 residents and 109,000 jobs and carries approximately 9,000 transit riders and 35,000 vehicles daily. Whether you walk, cycle, ride transit or drive, this $378 million project will benefit everyone.

When construction is complete in Fall 2026, the Maryland Parkway BRT route will be:

·         Safe with shared bus-bike lanes, wider sidewalks, more lighting, and upgraded crosswalks.

·         Comfortable with electric buses and more shade from trees and passenger shelters.

·         Accessible with improved access to destinations and jobs and more frequent and faster buses.

The portion of the project within city of Las Vegas limits is expected to be complete in summer 2026.

Charleston Storm Drain - Commerce To Maryland

The city of Las Vegas is constructing the next phase of the Flamingo Road/Boulder Highway North Charleston Boulevard – Commerce Street to Maryland Parkway flood control project.

Project Features

The project features one mile of storm drain to reduce flooding, new sewer and water infrastructure, traffic signal modifications, median construction and new pavement. 

There will be 24-hour lane restrictions during this project. Business and pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the project. Updates on upcoming traffic control restrictions can be obtained by signing up for project updates. Email “subscribe” to info@charlestonstormdrain.com.

Please drive safely in the work zone areas and local traffic is encouraged to use alternate routes whenever possible.

Summerlin Parkway Trail

The city of Las Vegas is extending its popular trail system and constructing a new 3.5-mile pathway shared use trail between the Summerlin Interchange and Rampart Boulevard along Summerlin Parkway.

Safe and aesthetically pleasing location for running, walking, and cycling
12’ wide accessible asphalt trail including new lighting, fencing, and trash receptacles
Trail pedestrian bridge at the Wash crossing
Trail pedestrian undercrossing structure at Crestdale Lane
Three at-grade crossings at Anasazi Drive, Town Center Drive and Rampart Blvd

Project Funding: NDOT and RTC

Construction Start: Aug. 18, 2025
Expected Construction Completion: Spring 2027

Minimal traffic impacts to Summerlin Parkway are expected. Lane Restrictions are anticipated as trail crossings are constructed at Anasazi Drive, Crestdale Lane, Town Center Drive and Rampart Boulevard. During construction of a tunnel at Crestdale Lane, full road closures are anticipated.
