Las Vegas City Council will met on Wednesday, Aug. 7. Below are some agenda items that may be of interest. Get the agenda and watch the meeting.
Agenda Item 44 – Nutritional Snacks for Safekey: This interlocal agreement allows Clark County School District to provide funding for nutritional snacks for nine Safekey sites in the city participating in the Snack Program.
Agenda Items 45 & 46 – Affordable Housing at 400 S. Decatur Blvd.: The city receives an annual Private Activity Bond Volume Cap allocation from the State of
Nevada Department of Business and Industry to finance affordable rental housing
developments, single-family mortgages, and industrial development projects. The City is now transferring
funds to finance the construction of a
420-unit affordable and market rate multi-family affordable housing development at 400 South
Decatur Boulevard. This development will provide 396 units with rents ranging from $326 - $1,169 monthly and will accommodate families
earning 30-60% of the area median income. The development will also provide 34 market
rate units. The first floor of the project will have retail space available for rent as well.
Agenda Item 50 – Future Mobility Plan: In November 2016, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) began a study of high capacity transit in Southern Nevada called “On Board - Your Future Mobility Plan". This study is focused on three areas:
- strategies to improve traditional transit;
- high capacity transit options; and
- emerging transit technology opportunities.
In a parallel effort, the RTC, along with the Nevada Department of Transportation, initiated the Boulder Highway Multimodal Corridor Study in 2017. RTC staff gave a brief presentation on the progress made on both plans.
Agenda Item 52 – 2019 Session of the Nevada Legislature: Staff gave a report regarding the 2019 (80th) Session of the Nevada Legislature.
